Day 01 : Arusha to Falls Camp
Arusha to Falls Camp
Depart from Arusha, driving through Mto wa Mbu, entering the Great Rift Valley.
Pass through the Engaruaka basin and semi-desert regions, with views of extinct volcanoes like Kitumbene and Gelai on the right and the iconic “Mountain of God,” Ol Doinyo Lengai, directly ahead.
Midday: Arrive at Falls Camp along the Engaresero River, where you can enjoy a refreshing shower, bathe in the river, or hike to the scenic waterfalls hidden in the western wall of the Rift Valley.
Midnight: Begin the ascent of Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai. If conditions permit, witness the lava glowing at the peak.
Day 02: Summit and Lake Natron
Summit and Lake Natron
Sunrise: Enjoy breathtaking views up the Rift Valley stretching toward Kenya from the summit of Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai.
Descend to Falls Camp around lunch.
Afterward, drive to Lake Natron, one of East Africa’s primary flamingo breeding grounds.
En-route: Visit a Maasai “Boma” village to experience traditional Maasai culture.
Overnight at Falls Camp.
Day 03: Return Back to Arusha
Return to Arusha
Depart Falls Camp and drive back to Arusha.
On the Way:
Stop at markets offering Makonde carvings, renowned Tanzanian art pieces.
Optional stop at Meserani Snake Park to see various local snake species.
Overnight: Stay at a lodge in Arusha or transfer to the airport.
